Joe Jankowski, PA-C, Receives Medical Examiner Certification

Joe Jankowski, PA-C

Newberry, MI — July 10, 2019

Helen Newberry Joy Hospital is pleased to announce that Joe Jankowski, PA-C, has earned his medical examiner certification from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).

Designed to improve safety by achieving high-quality medical exams consistent with Federal regulations and guidelines, truck and bus drivers must obtain a FMCSA medical examination from a certified medical examiner to ensure they are physically qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle (CMV). With this certification, Jankowski will be included on the National Registry and is certified to perform this important physical examination.

CMV drivers are held to higher physical, mental, and emotional standards than passenger car drivers which makes the Department of Transportation required examination so significant. The primary mission of the FMCSA is to reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities involving large trucks and buses. Joe is excited to be able to offer this specific examination to commercial motor vehicle drivers in our area stating, “The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s primary goal is safety. I’m happy to play a role in keeping our roads safe by offering this service to our community.”
