Helen Newberry Joy Hospital Implements Visitor Restrictions

HNJH Implements Visitor Restrictions

To protect our patients, staff, visitors and the community during the outbreak of COVID-19, all routine visiting is being suspended until the transmission of COVID-19 is no longer a threat to our patients, staff, and community. In addition to not allowing visitors, the HNJH cafeteria dining area and both Wellness Center locations are closed to the public until further notice. Food orders may be placed in the cafeteria by calling 293.9127.

The decision to restrict visitors was difficult and made only after careful consideration of our infection control practices.

We recognize that there are times when having a visitor or family member present is crucial. In these cases, visitors will be allowed under certain circumstances. HNJH will work with those families individually at that time.

During clinic visits at the Gibson Family Health Clinic, Manistique Lakes Family Clinic, and West Mackinac Health Clinic, patients may have one person with them. Please note this only applies if the visitor screens
negative for symptoms of respiratory infection (fever, runny nose, cough, shortness of breath). Reminder if you are experiencing the symptoms above please call the COVID-19 Hotline at 906.293.9288 before coming into the healthcare center.

We appreciate your understanding during these uncertain times. Our goal is to protect you, your loved one and our staff.
